AbstractThe investigation was carried out in a greenhouse pot trial for a period of three years. The effect of Cucumber mosaic virus on tomato growth and development when infected at different phenophase- from cotyledons to 10 th true leaf, was studied. The results showed that infection damaged differently the separate vegetative organs to tomato. The index of depression was calculated that reflects the complex effect of infection on plants. It was found that the rate of virus infection effect on tomatoes, depend on the development phase, during which they have been inoculated. It was proved that tomatoes are highly sensitive to CMV when infected in period of cotyledon through 10 th true leaf incl.
