| Abstract | Twenty Bulgarian isolates of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), mainly from field tomato were studied. The subgroup differentiation of the viruses was determined by means of ACP-ELISA with monoclonal antibodies, RT-PCR and RFLP analysis. The most of the isolates belonged to subgroup I and only two of them were from subgroup II. The obtained results correlated with previous investigations of CMV diversity in our country. A purification of viral dsRNA was carried out and the presence of satellite RNA was established in 11 from 18 tested isolates. The satellite RNA occurred more frequently in greenhouses and it did not affect the CMV symptoms of the field tomato and the indicator plants. |
