Development and use of evaluation methods of tolerance to the leafhopper-transmitted wheat dwarf virus (WDV) in barley, wheat and triticale

Research Project
Field Value
TitleDevelopment and use of evaluation methods of tolerance to the leafhopper-transmitted wheat dwarf virus (WDV) in barley, wheat and triticale
ParticipantsAntje Habekuss (Leader)
Period2002 - 2005
DescriptionThe aim of the project is the evaluation of genebank and breeding material of different cereal species for tolerance to the wheat dwarf virus. For this reason, at first, test methods for a reliable tolerance estimation have to be developed. The selected material is the basis for the breeding of cereal varieties with improved virusresistance/-tolerance.
